Moved to WordPress

I would rather not start the blogging habit with two blogs, lest one fall by the wayside, and since Blogger for Android is inferior to that of WordPress, and since I foresee making blog entries on my pocket computer, I opted to just use a free (ad-supported) WordPress account:

3M Scotchlite silver fabric makes a great mousepad

This blog is inspired by PC video game Tribes: Ascend.

I might have played for a few minutes one of the earlier Tribes games many years ago; since I don't have much invested in the series, I started playing this game with an open mind and was well-rewarded. Tribes: Ascend is FUN.

At first, playing as the Pathfinder class was the most interesting; it was fast, responsible for flag-capping, and it was fast. I tried the other classes once unlocked and the hardest was the Sentinel; sniping fast-moving Pathfinders was discouragingly difficult. It was like trying to climb the learning curve with ski toggled.

The Technician was the next class I spent time as, repairing base assets and setting up automated turrets. For some reason I returned to the Sentinel class, though, and this time something clicked; I got to a point where the dopamine rush from hitting targets washed out the frustration from missing, and I stuck with it.

My mouse is a Logitech MX518. The resolution is adjustable, which is handy while scoped. I no longer use SetPoint because Windows 7 recognizes the mouse controls just fine. I used to use a coarse-woven place-mat as a mouse pad, but after some experimentation I found 3M Scotchbrite Reflective Material 8925 Silver Fabric to be superior. The mouse glides quietly, and the pointer goes where I want it to go.
